Putting An Animal Down

Has anyone here ever had to put an animal down?
It's a very painful experience.

However, at least they don't have to suffer any longer because of it.

Directly or indirectly?
I have killed some baby mice that were starved and abandoned by there mother just to spare them from the starving death. Also killed some old chickens that were blind and very old.

Indirectly killed our rabbit by letting it out of it's cage during summer and letting it run free as it was old and probably would die that summer anyway. It stayed in our garden for about a month and a half and we feed it but later it disappeared. Probably died as it was very old.

After one of our Budgies died we had one left and it wasn't really a happy pet tbh as budgies need other birds to live with.
After a while we started realizing that it also had very bad eyesight that kept getting worse. At the end it rarely left the cage and when it did it had no idea where it was going and just bumped into stuff. Sad to see it go as i really enjoyed having budgies. Wish the rest of my family wanted to get new ones :C

Yes, I had a cat that lived to be 23 human years. She was very mentally challenged. She got so old that she was partially blind and deaf and kept falling into the pool and we had to get her out. One night, she fell in and had to tread water all night to survive. My dad did get her out in the morning, but she was so exhausted that she couldn't walk. We found it best to put her out of her misery.

I had to get an old husky of mine put down, he was very old and mostly blind.
Saved him from a lot of suffering I suppose.

I had one of my kitties pass away a year ago or so, was the first animal I actually cared for really.

My mother had to put down a dog of hers, she had it for like 20 years. It began to wander and become blind, and she was in pain and shit, so yeah.

She was very sad, so then she got our two kitties :3 Ninjie and Little.
