So, this is not a strange or new topic at all. The two of them are amazing yet the two have their problems.
AMD for example has better overclocking for operating at high speeds, but this superpower would increase the electricity bill and the GPU -in worst cases- will burn.
Also, AMD has a higher memory bandwidth and more video RAM.
Nvidia here is focusing more on GPUs and lets other manufacturers build the graphics card.
We can all notice that Nvidia cards are more power-saver than AMD, also GPU accelerated PhysX is Nvidia's unique weapon. But Nvidia has less to offer when it comes to memory bandwidth and video RAM.
Now, in this hard-choice topic what will you choose? and why?

I would go with nVidia as I prefer them to AMD.

Nvidia is best for gaming. AMD is good for anything else.

I use AMD although I don't really have a preference. I just bought my PC with expensive AMD parts and I have zero complaints.

I have mixed opinions. I really like both of them since I've tried cards from both companies. I guess, if you are on a strict budget then AMD. If you can give more money than Nvidia.
CPU also matters since Intel CPU and Nvidia graphic card combo will give you a greater performance compared to Intel CPU and AMD. Same happens with AMD CPU and AMD GPU combo.
