It is obvious that you get what you pay for. That means if you pay for hosting, it is going to have a much much better performance rather than a free hosting since the ways that a company monetise its hosting plans add up to the total revenue that company gets.
Would you give out high-performance free shared hosting without a capital? I don't think so.
