Is it a bad thing to want to welcome everyone?

It's not necessarily spamming, unless people are literally spamming like yugurt showed above. There's no limit daily per how many people you can welcome, and it's an easy planned post people can make to get some extra posts each day. Also, some people don't care about their post count, but WE ALL consider it an achievement when we get to certain amounts. (100, 500, 1000, etc.)

It's an iffy subject, obviously it should be okay.. but people constantly abuse it.

Well maybe as a compromise, there could be a limit per 24 hours of how many posts you can make on the introductions section. Don't know, just don't see this as a concern :c

There are people who still weclome the same. I will not post their names, but there are a few members who are just increasing their post count. It is the same thing over and over again. I agree with this.

I don't really mind it, it's nice seeing members with a lot of posts. There isn't really much to post in the introduction section, it's structure is to be repetitive.

I am for this, several different forums do not count post from within the introduction section. Several of you have made compelling arguments, but i will always welcome people with or without post counts.

When I post on peoples introduction messages, I usually have a different post based on what they say. Welcoming people is nice and makes the OP feel good, so even if people do it just to up their post count it is a good motivation. We don't want to have 1 post by a staff member per introduction, and have no one else.

Well currently it is mostly spam and about one or two good posts per day.

You have a point but it's more of an argumentative statement.
People who welcome other members to the forum ( which they don't have to ) should be rewarded.
It will help encourage members to stay on the forum and welcome them.
