I personally don't feel there is enough evidence to make me want to believe in it. I am starting to accept the thought of dying and I think a lot of religion is used to cope with that. If religion makes you happy or a better person then continue with it.

If you read my posts above, you will know I do not believe in God.
Regarding certain uneducated users - educate yourself on subjects before you post. I am quite sure the idea is rather God created us and gave us freedom and the ability to make our own decisions. Our actions will determine the outcome of our afterlife is all. God does not control us like puppets.

It seems scientists bring out a lot of evidence while the Christians just say "Well god will figure that out" or something along those lines. My life's been good thus far without god so i think the rest of my life will be fine :)Exactly.

Yet again that is your opinion, but the idea of religion is to have faith, faith that god is there without seeing him.

I was raised a Christian and for a short time I prayed, lived my life under the assumption of pleasing this God, and didn't like those who attacked Him. But, I eventually realized that nothing, besides the household that I was raised in, lead me to this God and living my life around the codes/rules. I thought this was quite sad. I didn't want to be some sheep who can't think for himself and have my whole life formed around something that I only accepted blindly because of the conditions I grew up in.
Now, I am no longer a Christian. I still haven't figured things out for myself yet, but I do know I don't want to be associated with organized religion.

I don't follow a religion - I was baptised as a baby but growing up with one half of my family that is Catholic/Christian and the other half as Muslim, is a very awkward situation. Though my Catholic family don't push religion on me and want me to do the best for myself where as I've got my Muslim family always saying to me I should become Muslim.

That sounds like something out of a television comedy. Pretty weird situation xD. "18 year old man, fought between two sides of his family! One wants him to be Catholic, one wants him to be Muslim. But wait! *record scratch sound* He's an Atheist!"

I'm not Christian because a lot of the stories from the bible don't make a lot of sense in my mind. I do believe in a higher power though, mainly because of what my Physics teacher has told me.

If you do not mind me asking, what stories do not make sense in your mind?

People need to understand that all the stories that are in the Bible aren't said to be true, but are simply a moral lesson for those who read.
